Social Gathering in Glasgow

Join SFS and Scotland’s sustainable fashion community to connect, celebrate and close the very first Spring Gathering in Glasgow city centre, where SFS launched in February 2020.

To celebrate our 3rd birthday, the close of the Spring Gathering events, and the inspiring work going on in sustainable fashion and textiles across Scotland, SFS Directors Mairi and Liisa would love for you to join us for a fun-filled evening to relax, meet and mingle with friendly faces, and have a couple of drinks (soft or alcoholic) and snacks.

Event schedule

• 5.30pm: Doors open
• 6.15pm: Welcoming talk + open mic space
• 7.15pm: Pub quiz!
• 8.45pm: Connecting and celebrating till close

From 5.30pm, come along to Stereo when doors open. The bar will be open, the tunes will be playing, and we will have various activities happening for you to get to know one another…

Look forward to:

• Swap One Thing: Everybody has something fab in their wardrobe that they just never wear! We invite you to bring ONE item (in great condition) to swap for something new to you.
• Connection bingo to help you break the ice, get to know one another and form connections with like-minded people. Prize to be announced…
• Jigsaws and board games to keep your hands busy while you mingle. Please feel free to bring along your own craft or mending projects.
• Space to ask for and offer support to one another, and to share ideas for collaborations!

At 6.15pm, SFS Directors Mairi and Liisa will give a short talk welcoming you to the event and to share more about the Spring Gathering. There will be open mic space after this for anybody who would like to introduce themselves to the room, ask for or offer support, or share a sustainability success story for us all to celebrate!

At 7.15pm after some more mingling, we’ll be joined by the brilliant Johanna from Goose Quizzes for a pub quiz. Team up to flex your general knowledge muscles plus look forward to a custom round all about sustainable fashion! Prize to be announced!

Around 8.45pm once the quiz winners are announced, we’ll keep connecting and celebrating with good music, company and drinks until close, around 9.45pm.

Snacks will be provided but if you’d like a bigger meal, please book a table in the upstairs dining area at Stereo.

Tickets will also be available on the door but we recommend booking in advance online to reserve your place! Please email Mairi at sustainablefashionscotland@gmail.com if the ticket cost will be a barrier to you attending.

EVENT FORMAT & ACCESSIBILITY

This event is being held in person only. Stereo is just a hop, skip and jump from Glasgow Central Train Station. Stereo has a wheelchair lift from street level which provides access to the main bar and restaurant. Unfortunately, we don’t have wheelchair access to the basement venue at present (where the SFS event is taking place). How to get to Stereo and more accessibility information.

ABOUT SUSTAINABLE FASHION SCOTLAND

Sustainable Fashion Scotland (SFS) is a community-led nonprofit with the mission to connect the fashion community and accelerate collective action for a sustainable fashion transformation. At ApparelXchange in Feb 2020, around 70 ambitious individuals and organisations came together all wanting to work together towards a transformed sustainable, equitable and thriving fashion system in Scotland. SFS is the result of this meetup.
