About the event

Join us to connect with the #SustFashScotland community and explore ways forward together.

This month we are discussing ‘How can we empower young people to be changemakers?' led by Izzie Eriksen, Founding Director at ApparelXchange, a social enterprise dedicated to children's clothing and school uniform reuse. Izzie currently holds several roles combining a strategic policy driven approach with grassroots social enterprise action, to achieve the goal of the circular economy.

Since launching in 2018, ApparelXchange has always put knowledge at the heart of their behaviour change strategy: the simple concept, that with knowledge we all make better informed decisions. And while that knowledge can be frightening, in particular with the climate crisis in mind, it is also necessary to ensure we all have autonomy over our life choices.

During this call, Izzie will share about ApparelXchange’s current educational offering to primary and secondary schools, as well as some of the opportunities and challenges as a social enterprise working within this area.

The call will focus on considering the depth and breath of positive outcomes for young people and how we can all be empowered to make a difference. Finally, Izzie will briefly introduce the concept of a Sustainable Fashion Quarter, an opportunity for AXC to share a novel idea to grow the economic sustainability of brands.

The SFS Community Call is held on the last Thursday of the month and provides a space to connect and discuss current topics within the #SustFashScotland community.

Please be aware takeaways from the audio and video recording will be used in SFS communication. We may record part or all of the event for publication on our website.
