This month we are discussing ‘How can we increase transparency in the age of greenwashing?' led by the determined Petra Olehno, Founding Director of REPAIREL CIC. Based in Glasgow, the startup social enterprise is advancing an equitable Circular Economy to tackle the climate emergency, starting with repairing the apparel industry and firstly - the footwear sector.

Are you a maker, brand, small business owner, or sustainability consultant frustrated by the budget and capacity big brands have to produce sustainability practices rife with greenwashing? In 2021 REPAIREL developed their Ethics and Sustainability Framework to help brands be fully transparent and better showcase their sustainability to their customers, and to help consumers make more informed decisions about their purchases that align with their values.

You are invited to learn more about the development of the framework (the why, how, and what) and to share your thoughts on how the framework could progress. REPAIREL is keen to understand how it could benefit citizens buying fashion as well as small local businesses who can’t always measure their supply chain’s sustainability practices due to limited capacity and access to this data.

Join this call to help REPAIREL understand small business owners’ pains and needs, and co-design a framework that will support brands to communicate their sustainability credentials and stand out amongst greenwashing.

The SFS Community Call is held on the last Thursday of the month and provides a space to connect and discuss current topics within the #SustFashScotland community.
